Frequently asked questions.
What is an LPC-Associate?
Earning the title of Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate means that I have completed my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with my practicum and internships at a counseling center. I am now licensed in Texas and working under a supervisor until I complete the required hours for full licensure.
Do you take insurance?
Unfortunately at this time I am unable to accept insurance. I can work with you and provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for a potential reimbursement.
What services do you provide?
At this time I provide counseling for adults 18+ virtually across Texas. I can not provide services outside of the state of Texas.
What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is about learning who you are— your background, current life, your goals, and what has led you to counseling. In our time we will explore what you are hoping to gain from counseling, answer any questions you may have, and begin to build up our foundation together. This space is for you to share what feels best for you, whether you are ready to share everything or only the highlights.
What do sessions look like?
Sessions last for 50 minutes, we may start with some conversation of how you have been since our last session. This is your space to use as you need so you are encouraged to bring what you are wanting to work on to the session. The last 5-10 minutes of the session will be used to reflect on the content of our session, plans until next session, and a grounding period before ending the session.
