Who am I?
Christine Bolton, LPC-Associate | Supervised by Shawna Lovin, LPC-S
Since I want to help you become your whole authentic self I want to present myself to you with authenticity. I value finding what brings you joy, peace, and growth. If that is a silly movie, a dramatic novel, or your favorite album on repeat that’s valuable. As a person I value comfort both internal and external (you can wear your comfy clothes to session I won’t judge), being authentic to yourself, and doing what is best for your health even if it can be difficult.
As a counselor I bring an approach to session that focuses on being empathetic, hearing you wholly, and bringing a warm space for growth. Sometimes I might send you a worksheet (if you want them) but I believe that a genuine therapeutic connection can bring about great change. We will work together to dissect and brainstorm solutions to problems that we can change, I might challenge you, and I will hold a space for whatever you may bring.
What Do I Work With?
Women’s Issues
Anxiety
Depression
Self-Esteem
Stress
Life Transitions
How I approach counseling is with a trauma informed, person-centered therapy, mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral approach.
What this looks like is a session with a little bit of structure but still a good amount of freedom for you to bring what you need to the table. Sometimes we might talk about some educational pieces that are relevant to your healing, I might recommend readings, provide worksheets if necessary, and we might practice some coping skills together in session.
